Hagrid's Pockets
A completely INCOMPLETE list of everything in HAGRID'S POCKETS!
The Harry Potter series has so many magically subtle elements that add to the nostalgia we all feel when we re-read or re-watch our favorites. Hagrid’s pockets were full of items in every one of the Harry Potter movies.
Remember how you felt during that first scene in the Sorcerer’s Stone where Hagrid pulls out a birthday cake for Harry?
It was IN HAGRID’s POCKET! In every Harry Potter movie, Hagrid has a pocket full of amazing things.
We all know JK Rowling is British. Was JK Rowling influenced, perhaps as a little girl growing up in England, by the British author Pamela Lyndon Travers who wrote the Mary Poppins book series?
In the classic Mary Poppins books and Disney movie, the author created an amazing phenomenon where so many wonderful things were inside Mary Poppin’s bag. Mary would reach in and magically pull out so many supercalifragilisticespialidocious things from her bag!
Perhaps Hagrid’s mysterious bottomless pockets were JK Rowling’s homage to the classic Mary Poppin’s bag?
Next time you read the books or watch the movies, pay special attention to the many things that come out of Hagrid’s pockets!
Find odd objects like an umbrella and tea set, along with very handy items such as Harry’s birthday cake and the key to Harry’s safe in Gringotts!
