Sarah J. Maas has taken over the book-loving world with her epic fantasy novels. She is known for her strong female leads, enemies-to-lovers troupes, and amazing world-building. Her newest series is a continuation of A Court of Thornes and Roses, but this time it’s all about Nesta!

Sarah J. Maas’s sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre’s fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other’s arms.

QUOTE
ANIA GEMMA REVIEWS A COURT OF SILVER FLAMES

“Amren put a hand above Nesta’s heart. “That’s the key, isn’t it? To know the darkness will always remain, but how you choose to face it, handle it… that’s the most important part. Do not let it consume. To focus upon the good, the things that fill you with wonder.” She gestured to the stars zooming past. “The struggle with that darkness is worth it, just to see such things.”

MY THOUGHTS
ANIA GEMMA REVIEWS A COURT OF SILVER FLAMES

I have waited to write this review for a long time. I just finished re-listening to it, and I finally am at peace with Nesta. As you may know I am not a fan of the two elder Archeron sisters, if it was up to me, they would not be in the plot. To me Nesta was a mean, selfish bully and did not care for her at all. So when she got a whole book to herself I was not too motivated to read it. This time around I actually took my time, listening to what she was saying, what she was feeling and what trauma she went through.

NEW OPINION

The first time around I really dismissed her trauma as being spoiled in comparison to Feyre and I think that was my biggest problem. Everyone has a different type of trauma and it affects everyone differently. I was really able to appreciate her growth (slow and painful), and her developing friendship with Gwyn and Emerie (love them both) and also for FINALLY admitting her feelings to Cassian who is my hero for standing by Nesta no matter what. It actually made me tear up a couple times, I really hope that we will get to see more of Nesta and Cas in the next books.

THE STAR OF THE SHOW

Also we need to mention the star of the show– Azriel- I LOVED every time he was featured and loved that one of his jobs was to be a chaperone (failed at it). If the next book is not about AZRIEL I do not want it 😉

So I guess this review is more of an apology to Nesta, Welcome back to the Night Court, Girl ! 🙂
