Author Talks for Books 4 Movies, a header

Author Tia Christine

INDIE AUTHOR SUPPORTER AND FANTASY NOVELIST

About me – Author Tia Christine: My first step into the bookish world started out similar to many others – with Twilight. But the ongoing journey has been full of surprises…

2014 is the year I entered college and set out to become one of the world’s top literary agents! My goal was to travel the world searching for unpublished manuscripts that will become incredible movies and tv shows.

Things did not go according to plan… I’ll tell you more about that later in this article.

In 2022, our post-covid world made me realize that I wanted to work from home doing what I love – reading books and being my own boss. The time for clocking in-and-out was over. No more lunch breaks or annoying co-workers or declining after-work cocktails because I just wanted to read the next book on my TBR list.

2022 is the year that Books4Movies was made.

About BOOKS4MOVIES

It didn’t take long for readers to notice this website and start following along. I discovered that there was a gap in the bookish community – no one was really talking about adaptations, or news and trends, and readers really wanted to know all about what was happening.

More bloggers were brought in to help write articles, and before you know it, I was able to fully quit working in jobs that I didn’t like AND hire readers to share about their passion for books.

There are so many amazing things that go into creating a book adaptation that most people don’t know about. Casting, directing, producers, set design, script writing, movie marketing, red carpet events… the list goes on forever! I am such a nerd and find all of these things fascinating. Thanks to Stephanie Meyer and Paramount, my obsession with adaptations has been steadily growing since the release of Twilight.

By the way, I’m #teamjacob

The Books4Movies blog started off perfectly! What happened, though, was something that I had never planned for: offering a space for new and indie authors to learn, grow, and market their books.

ABOUT ORDER OF THE BOOKISH

So, Books4Movies expanded and added Order Of The Bookish – the place for new and indie authors (and small bookish publishers, companies, and artists of all kinds).

Order Of The Bookish is made up of teams of people that provide affordable author services, like cover design, editing, and formatting. But what we do the most is marketing! The thing that indie authors dread, and often don’t know how to do. With a background in marketing and success at running multiple small businesses, I decided to build a space where authors could find help and support to bring attention to their books. That is how the Bookish Boosters Team was born. It is our biggest, and most successful program. With nearly 200 active members, the readers in the group do amazing things like leave reviews, share hype posts, and work together in street teams.

My favorite thing about the bookish community is how devoted readers are to supporting not only their favorite authors, but also new authors who are just breaking into the industry. The loyalty, love, and compassion is an incredible thing to see and experience every single day.

MY WRITING GOALS

As much as I love helping other authors, I have always wanted to write my own books.

My first attempt at writing a book was when I was 12 years old. Amelia At-Water Rhodes was my inspiration for wanting to publish at such a young age. She was only 13 when she released Forests of the Night, so I thought to myself “If she can do it, then so can I!”….

I didn’t do it.

Writing a book was much harder than I anticipated, and with school, sports, and clubs, I just didn’t have the time or energy to keep writing. It wasn’t until college that I decided to give it another shot, but again, life got in the way and my Word documents quickly began gathering digital dust.

Last year, I finally made the decision to sit down and be a serious writer. It was around the same time that I started Books4Movies, so I had a lot of inspiration and energy for it.

My plan was a 15-part series. At this moment, it is MOSTLY planned out and three books are almost complete. Unfortunately, I have writer’s block and don’t have any motivation to continue that series.

PUBLISHED BOOKS

Nymeria and Sylvaine, the princesses of the Kingdom of Avadine, are blessed with the finest clothes, jewels, and art from across the ten kingdoms.

But their lives are far from perfect. The winters are becoming more and more unbearable. The food is disappearing. And the dark shadow creatures are hunting them. A treaty with the evil fae might be enough to save them all… but only one princess may live to see it.

Marked by a destiny she did not ask for, the weight of her kingdom’s survival rests on her shoulders. But the brooding Prince of Khaos has other plans, and not even a pretty princess can stop him from taking control of his own fate.

My very first book is not a fiction or fantasy story. Rather, it is a cute word search puzzle book. It took a while to make – there are over 50 unique puzzles solely based on different book-to-movie adaptations.

Some of the puzzles are fairly easy, with only 12 words to find.

Other puzzles are a tiny bit more challenging… Harry Potter is my personal favorite!
