S.L Mason is an urban fantasy author with QuickQuill Publishing. She has dedicated her time to creating this epic fantasy world that we now come to know as These Hallowed Hills.
S.L Mason currently lives in Panama with her husband Jude, their two children Jack and Gillian, and their dog. S.L has lived and traveled all over the world, from the green mountains of Oregon to the white sands of the Caribbean to the cobbled streets of Paris.
Her vast experience with traveling gave her a unique talent for twisting historical and geographical facts into her fictional worlds. Like most of us readers, S.L is a huge nerd in all things bookish and non-bookish. Trick of Fae was S.L Mason’s introduction to the bookish world.

Trick of Fae follows Sarah as she gets taken by the fae to The Hallowed Hills to compete in a competition set up by the princes of The Hallowed Hills. She must become a contender to save her life and that of her friends. We get to see Sarah become more than a damsel in distress but rather a fighter.

If only we’d believed them… The fae arrived at twilight. Singing their magical nursery rhyme songs luring men and women to their death. Every except Sarah. My Review
Trick of Fae is book one in this urban fantasy series. It introduces Sarah, the main character, as her life is thrown through a loop. Everything she thought she knew she didn’t. I first read Trick of Fae when it was released back in 2017. I fell in love with the fantasy world that S.L Mason created. I was hooked from the first chapter until the very last book.
Lavender, who is a fae who helps Sarah in the Hallowed Hills, became my favorite character throughout the series. She seems like a minor character but eventually becomes one of Sarah’s most trusted friends. If you’re a fan of The Hunger Games, then this is a book for you!
What is S.L Currently Working on?
I had the chance to speak with S.L Mason about other books in the works for her readers. I am excited to say that she has quite a few books that she is writing. As of right now, she is writing a new series called Techno Witches. Techno Witches is a mix of magic and science in a dystopian world. S.L plans on writing between 9 and 12 books for this series. She also has three prequels in the works for the Hallowed Hills series but those won’t be written anytime soon. It seems we have quite a few series to look forward to in the bookish world!
