Emily Lankow is a young adult fantasy author who found her love for writing when she was just a young teenager. She was published in a Vantiy Press when she was just a freshman in high school! When Emily is not writing she is spending time with her husband and their three cats drinking tea. Emily currently has a new series in the works and is also working on the second installment to the Rise of the Fallen series. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the bookish community!
Guardian
Guardian follows Cassandra as she learns that angels are real and that she is a guardian and holds a key that she learns will not only protect the angel’s realm but also her own. Cassandra must protect the angel Jasper from Ander’s men but when her best friend Jo becomes in danger, she is forced to choose between the two.
“I don’t believe in angels,” That’s what Cassandra always told herself, anyway.
“Oh, but you do, you wouldn’t be here right now if you didn’t.”
And it was being caught in that one little lie, in the wrong place, at the wrong time, that changes Cas’ life forever, by identifying her as the perfect Guardian for Jasper, an angel who fell while fleeing the war unfolding above.
Stripped of his divine wings and way home, Jasper is defenseless in the mortal realm until he can find a way to return to his own world. But doing so is futile unless he can also find a way to thwart Ander, the dangerous usurper bent on bringing The Netherhaven under his rule.
Ander seeks to destroy all who would oppose him, both angel and human, by locating and obtaining three keys that unlock a legendary power that would make him invincible. Cassandra has one of those keys.
It’s only a matter of time until Ander’s men come for not only Jasper, but the key, and Cas is the only one who can protect them. When her new role as Jasper’s Guardian endangers her best friend Jo, who needs her now more than ever, Cas finds herself on the brink of losing everything. Caught between Jasper and Jo, Cas is forced to choose between saving the angels’ realm and protecting her own, a choice that is made even more difficult when she uncovers a startling secret that binds her to both.
My Review
I absolutely loved this book! Fallen angels, twists and turns it had everything! I loved how the story came together in the end. I love Cas and Jo’s friendship, and the relationship that develops between Cas and Jasper. I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store!
What is Emily Lankow Currently Working On?
I had the opportunity to speak with Emily Lankow, and I learned that she is currently working on a whole new series that she is hoping to have out later this year. I also learned that this new series will have easter eggs that tie into the next installment of the Rise of the Fallen series! She plans on having basically a multiverse between her books! Emily is making it to where we can read her new series and then the second book to Guardian or you can just read the second book, you may miss out on some easter eggs though! I can’t wait to see what her new series will be about and how it will tie into her Guardian series.
